Description

The EEOC has confirmed the release of the long-awaited 2023 EEO-1 reporting. The deadline to submit the 2023 EEO-1 Component 1 report is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, 2024. The EEO-1 form is an annual requirement for employers falling under Title VII, encompassing those with 100 or more employees, as well as federal contractors and first-tier subcontractors with 50 or more employees.

It is anticipated that the EEOC released a new set of guidance in the form of answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) for this year's filings prior to the opening of the filing platform. One very significant omission from this announcement was the lack of any discussion of adding pay data collection to the 2023 EEO-1 filings.

Given the continuous proposal of new policies, it's challenging to stay abreast of compliance recommendations. Hence, we're providing "EEO-1 Report Compliance: Essential Guidance for Employers" to ensure you're well-informed.

Why you should Attend

The EEOC has recently made significant updates to the EEO-1 Report. The changes include revised nomenclature for report types, guidelines for remote employees, and the inclusion of non-binary employees. The report now also requires the use of Unique Entity IDs (UEI) for federal contractors instead of DUNS numbers. Employers need to stay updated with these changes and ensure their reporting is in line with the latest guidelines.

File by June 4, 2024 – or earlier! In the past, the EEO-1 reporting system has slowed down significantly as the deadline approached, which makes filing more challenging. You might want to allow yourself sufficient time before the deadline so you aren’t scrambling at the last minute with technical challenges. Typically, the EEOC does not provide extensions.
